Dear Anna, ........Alot of your customers are season ticket holders for the Philadelphia Phillies who were involved in October Post Season Playoffs and World Series chase. This made it hard to be in 2 places at the same time. I'm sure these baseball dollars will be transferred to bar revenue :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D.

More of a selection of beer at slightly higher prices then the lower priced swill would help too.
Brownies used to have Sierra Nevada on tap, what happened to that?

Us hippies like our heady beer! Trust me, it would sell!

BEER! BEER! BEER!

I'm so thirsty now....

Guinness on tap not heady enough for you, you grouchy picky bastard? :-D

While we're complaining I'd like plant-matter-based eco cups (http://www.ecoproducts.com/va-cms/index.php)(or even GLASSES) and not those plastic throw-it-into-the-landfill-hundred-year-half-life cups, too.

I'd even pay more for Brownies to use them. And I'd certainly drink more . . .
It's an obsession but it's pleasin' . . .

I hate Guinness! Yuk! No taste after the first sip. And it's flat. Pa-Toooy!

Gimme some hops!

Yes, I'm a DeadHead, and I'm F'in Picky!

Eco cups, like that, though! Or can we bring our own Mug?

all's I'm saying...hey Anna- don't think we are low lifes because of our abuse of the English language....but we do have purpose and meaning....and yes, definitely consider the environment with the cups and such....provide recycling cans....we will draw in many more pwople with that kind of P.R......

josh-scott- let's start a true action plan.....spreadsheet with work duties...who does what...who hands out flyers and where......there's no reason why we cannot draw DSO -sized crowds......we need to have flyers prepared for the Further shows in December....Hot Tuna shows...The Machine...( actually- I live near Keswick and can show up weekly to hand out SS flyers....the SS flyers should have the website also......we need Raquel's input here too....

Anna - I think it's terrific that you posted here and you nailed it on the head about the family feel of Thursday night; it truly is a special night as evidenced by Splintered's 13 year run @ Brownies. And all you have to do is read the set reviews to know how much we cherish this band and family. To that end, folks will do what they can to keep this scene going. I appreciate your being forthright in what you need to have for this to work financially for Brownies. So Scott will pay more at the door and I guess I must drink more beer Thursday night. So be it, we all must sacrifice.

Seriously though, thanks for opening up the dialogue and hopefully this can all work out for everybody's interests.

See you Thursday!
There is a road, no simple highway,
between the dawn and the dark of night.
And if you go, no one may follow.
That path is for your steps alone.

I would gladly pay more at the door as well...
As far as drinks...

I'll have to be honest...5$ for a small Guinness in a plastic cup is pretty beat...i'd pay a few more for the standard pint in glass

Are you guys (brownies) doing any marketing geared towards the colleges in the area? Specifically Vila Nova. Any college student can tell you Thursday is the biggest party night of the week...if your not already, I suggest hitting the facebook scene!

I don't know if its been tried before for an early start time would also help....with a one year old daughter and work the next morning 10-1 can be tough.....9-12 maybe?

just my two sense

I'll tell ya this, if start time was 9:00...I would be in attendance WAY more often!

And what about an occasional Sat.? I know "back in the day" Splintered would play at Brownies on Sat. and damn that was great!

Anna - thanks for posting and keeping us in the loop...
I think you'll find that we can be as creative as we are kind; and more than a little interested in keeping the Thursday love-fest going! :-D

Last Tues. I posted In Craig's List about SS & Brownie's... I'll do it again for this week, as well as informing some of my other on-line peeps.

9-12? Crimmeny, I'd only get the encore! :roflmao: Nah, I'd adjust and try moving these bones earlier. I do think it would increase possible attendance... my few Bucks County Deadhead friends blanch when they hear a 10:30pm start time. But whatever will we do at midnight?? Drum circle? Karioke?

Regarding those plastic cups... how about bringing our own mugs for a slight discount? Anna?

PS If the band wants new press releases or other written material, that's where my strength is...
Don't tango with the Freak Show, Baby....

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think we tried the early start thing in the past and it turned out that most folks showed up around 10:00 or 10:30 anyway and missed most of the first set (hippies on hippie time).... Joy knows. :roflmao: I do understand that Thursdays can be tough for the Friday early risers. It might be worth another try.

I went to DSO Monday night and there were a bunch of folks handing out post card style glossy thingies to promote other gigs. We need some of those..... (nudging grate scott). Cyn was handing out some Splintered ones that were photo copies on construction paper. Way to go Cyn!! Nice job getting out there and promoting the band. You rock!!
If you get confused, listen to the music play...

I can only drink so much so I've been buying drinks for Trigger Hippie 'cause she doesn't drive to the show. You like that, dontchya, Kelly?

It's so funny that we don't drink enough. I've discussed this tendency with others in our family. If only we were a bunch of hard core alcoholics. Yeah! Then we'd be so much more fun!! So drink drink drink! I love how attractive people become when properly intoxicated...at least they become more attractive when I'm properly intoxicated. So drink up!! And let's tell the cops so they can pull us over in mass numbers so we can also benefit the county when we pay our DUIs. Always community minded!! And those who can afford lawyers can benefit those poor maligned professionals, right, Joe? For that matter, there's the auto body shops that could benefit if we crash out cars. Speaking of bodies, funeral directors might see a little more business. Whoo hoo funeral homes!! Tough business. We need to help them!! Drink up!! Drink drink drink my drinky family!!

The way I see it, we need more people in there drinking a reasonable amount. I've posted on Facebook hoping to inspire folks to come out. Post everywhere you can, Splintered Family!!

Of course, then the dance floor gets way too crowed ...and when clusters of college students show up they act like ......(negative descriptors deleted)..... slamming into people like they own the dance floor.....(negative tangent deleted).....Can we just move to that place Monique mentioned?
Wherever you go, there you are!
