Pat "The Bat" off to Tampa Bay Rays

Postby GratefulJosh » Wed Jan 07, 2009 2:59 pm

So long "slugger!"

Ok, that's mean, he finished up OK, but I think we all knew he was, er, over-compensated.

How about that JC Romero? I want some of what he was drinking. 50 game suspension for an over-the-counter supplement sold at GNC?? Strikes me as ridiculous.
It's an obsession but it's pleasin' . . .

Barry Bonds has not tested positive at any time for anything. The man simply hit a baseball far; why all the hate?

Innocent until proven guilty; right?

AS far as Pat Burrell is concerned; his fielding ability became his liability. HE's better off in the AL with the deshitnagted hitter rule.

Unfortunately, I will likely miss Thur nite.....and, although I go to lots of Bonnie's sons' baseball games, I do not have a passionate interest in the Majors. But JD... now that's a horse of a different color ! ez

Okay - back on topic!

Let's clarify Keith; Bonds has never tested positive for any illegal substance at the time of the test. Those substances are now illegal, but not then.

Curtis mentioned making everything legal and thereby washing the slate of any potenial garbage; but doing that would only cheapen the game more than it already is. (Thank you television and expansion)

Look, as a Dodger fan (please refrain from the boos, hisses and other snide remarks; you won, okay? ) I could easliy batter Bonds since he was a SF Giant, but he's probably the best player I've ever seen, especially in his prime and since he's not tested positive for anything illegal at the time of his tests, I can see no reason to asterik his records once/if he enters the Hall. Hitting a baseball is the hardest thing to do; steroids or no.

To me, Pete rose belongs in the Hall. Yes, he gambled on baseball, but anyone who has ever seen him play knows for sure he never threw a game. Same parallel; differnt plane. ;-)

We have so many more important things for us and our government to worry about. All this crap is such a waste. People in jail for weed? come on now killers on the street rapist on the street, yet some poor kid in jail for weed. What is wrong with that picture? Some day maybe it will change. I have been saying that since the 60's.And yeah Jeff, Steroids or not, he hit the baseballs, which is a feat in itself.I could take all the steroids in the world and not hit one. Just sayin...............

I agree wholeheartedly Curtis; the government has no business getting into baseball's affairs  . However it's the anti-trust thing that baseball has as a kind of monopoly that drags the senators and the like into the fold.

Still in all; Barry should go to the Hall with NO ASTERIKS! ;-)
