agreed!! but generally, anyone in the top 4 or 5 has a golden star opportunity! Mommasox sooooo should have won, but, as my son pointed out...she will have no problems converting a less than winner status into stardom...Lee probably needs alittle sendoff boost, so he really "needed to win" so to speak, more than crystal, to break the earth's gravitational pull! Amazingly, however, they did get the top two right, regardless of order. The obvious push the producers and simon were giving to lee were ridiculous, but hey, it's all good....and it's good for music!!!! woohoo!!

My thoughts exactley Joe! If history shows us anything, w/ the exception of Justin whats his name from the kelly clarkson season, the runners up tend to do better in sales and just general better product!! I know the same will be for mammasox as you call her.. lol - love it!! And as a HUGE U2 fan.. I was not at all impressed with Lee's Beautiful day... just sayin!!

Really ? American Idol - you all are kidding me, right ? I'd rather chew on ground glass while eating my vegetable curry than waste my precious time on this type of "entertainment".

Studies have shown a direct correlation between the number of hours spent watching reality shows such as this and a measurable decrease in IQ.

I know, I know, it's not nice to be a meany and respect should be shown towards each human being's individuality. As Sly once said "different strokes for different folks" ...................... but an American Idol thread on this web-site ?

Hey, what's next - a list of rules for drum circles ? :roflmao: :roflmao:

Now American Bandstand with Dick Clark - that was an original that showcased talent in a kind and nurturing fashion. "I give it an 80, Dick. The lyrics were good, and you could dance to it".

Kudos to anyone who really has enough time to get wrapped up in sho. ws like american idol or dancing with the stars. I can honestly say that I "used to watch" but quickly realized that American Idol is totally orchestrated and the outcome is probably predetermined. I'm a Statistician-Engineer & I'd love to see the "alleged votes that come in to decide the winner on either of those shows. In fact, I stopped watching for good several seasons when they (the powers that be) squelched the "Sangia" stuff the ballot box thing the, when it was really obvious that the audience was planning on changing the "planned outcome" by actually voting for a rube (And I was one of those people, thanks to the beckoning of Howard Stern). Not to change the subject, but another show of similar vain is the bachelor/ette. Now that show is totally planned out and I refuse to ever watch that again.

during the sanjaya year howard stern was in on trying to get him to win. howard 100 news reporter steve langford actually uncovered some evidence leading to the possibility of it, indeed, being *fixed.*

i have never seen it before this season, (except for the sahjaya year b/c of howard) but this year made it something special for my daughter & i to watch, enjoyed crystal immensely, as well as a few others, but overall thought that lee, despite not being my fave, had a nice, sweet, genuine response to winning. he seems to me to be a common sound in singers these days but pop music is such a sausage grinder of continuous new product anymore, they need to crank out SOMEBODY new all the time and shows like this are a great vehicle.....

that being said, i will stick with just dancing with the stars next year
